Common Questions While You Wait
How much does forestry mulching cost?
Every property is different. The cost depends on acreage, vegetation density, terrain, equipment access, and the finish you expect. Josh walks the property and gives you a clear, free estimate.
Do you haul away the debris?
With forestry mulching, there's nothing to haul. The mulcher grinds trees and brush into a protective layer of mulch that stays on the ground. That means no burning, no dump fees, and no trucks tearing up your property.
What happens to the stumps?
Stump treatment depends on the project and the finish you need. If the area will become a building pad, driveway, or planted field, mention that to Josh so he can recommend the right approach.
How soon can you start?
Scheduling depends on current projects, site conditions, and the scope of your work. Josh will give you the most accurate timing when he calls.
How long will my project take?
It depends on acreage, density, and terrain. Because forestry mulching clears in one pass, many projects finish faster than traditional clearing. Josh will give you a time estimate with your quote.
Is forestry mulching good for my soil and erosion?
The mulch layer can help protect soil from erosion, hold moisture, and break down naturally over time. Site conditions vary, so Josh will recommend the best approach for your property.
Can you keep certain trees?
Absolutely. Selective clearing is one of the biggest advantages of forestry mulching. We take out underbrush and unwanted trees while protecting the ones worth keeping.
Do you also do traditional land clearing?
Yes. Josh will recommend forestry mulching when it fits, but we also handle traditional land clearing, lot clearing, driveways, and house demolition when your project calls for it.
Forestry Mulching vs. Traditional Land Clearing
| Consideration | Forestry Mulching | Traditional Clearing |
|---|---|---|
| Debris | Ground into mulch on site | Piled, burned, or hauled off |
| Soil impact | Topsoil generally stays in place | May be scraped and disturbed |
| Erosion | Mulch layer helps protect the ground | Bare soil may be more prone to washout |
| Equipment | Often completed with one machine | May require multiple machines and trucks |
| Cost factors | May reduce hauling and disposal costs | May include hauling and disposal costs |
| Selective clearing | Well suited to keeping selected trees | Depends on the method and site plan |
